Via WalletConnect

To access DeFi protocols via WalletConnect, start with the Levain application.

First, go to Wallets, and click the wallet of choice. In this example, our wallet named Ethereum Mainnet Yield Fund 1 will be used.

Click on the Wallet Connect tab.

Next, go to the decentralized application (dApp) of choice. In this example, PancakeSwap will be used. Read more on compatible dApps.

On Pancake Swap, click Connect Wallet.

Next, click WalletConnect.

Click Copy to clipboard.

Head back to the Levain application. Paste (ctrl+v) the wallet address you copied from PancakeSwap into Levain and click Connect Wallet.

Note that you will need to open the Levain application in the same window as your DeFi protocol (in this case, PancakeSwap) in order for the wallet to be connected.

You will then be asked to confirm the connection request. Click Connect.

Once this has been done, your wallet would have been successfully connected.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What decentralized applications (dApps) are compatible with Levain?

While Levain's multi-signature wallets provide enhanced security and control, they may not be compatible with all dApps.

This incompatibility primarily arises from how multi-signature wallets and certain dApps interact. Some dApps, like OpenSea or 1inch’s Fusion Mode, require the `personal_sign` method to authenticate users or for gasless transactions. This method is a way of signing data that proves ownership of a specific Ethereum address. It's often used as part of the login process for dApps to establish and verify the ownership of a wallet.

However, multi-signature wallets, by their nature, do not have the `personal_sign` method required of certain dApps for signing or for gasless transactions.

This is why Levain's multi-signature wallets might not be compatible with some dApps for now. It is important to understand these limitations when planning to use your multi-signature wallet with dApps.

Our team at Levain is continuously working to broaden compatibility to as many platforms as possible.
